I Miss You

You know all those stories about boys and girls who are best friends
And then they realize that they love each other. Sometimes,
I wish that we were like that. I'm happy now
More than you can know but there is something missing.

We were so close for so long and then suddenly we weren't.
I miss having someone around that is so much more of a dork
Than me. You were my dork and now we can't even talk to each other.
Why? I don't know. It wasn't me. It was
                      You.

You decided to give up on our friendship. Not me.
So, sometimes I wish we were the characters in those stories
Because at least then I would still have you as a friend.
Why aren't we friends? I don't know. All I know is that I miss
